Academy Home
Welcome to the center for the Academy. Although the AQSG does not consider a specific genre as its primary genre, it was originally founded as a Star Trek only organization. We have since opened our doors to include all genres. It is because of our heritage that we still employ the term "Academy" and base all Academy operations in the 1st "Glory" Fleet, one of our Star Trek fleets.
But what does this mean for the Academy candidate who does not wish to play in a Star Trek environment?
All new players will begin in the Basic Academy. Here the player will be assigned to Starbase McCoy in the 1st Fleet and instructed to report to his instructor. With the aid of the Instructor, the candidate will complete five (5) blocks of study centered around the basics of posting.
Upon completion of the Basic Academy course, the player will graduate to the next level, the Advanced course. Here the player, if in the Star Trek genre, will be assigned to the USS San Francisco and instructed to report to the captain. If the player is not in a Star Trek field of study, he will continue his study in a Holodeck level of the Starbase where the candidate will be in an environment native to the desired genre. For example, if the candidate wished to enter a Harry Potter universe, the candidate would be directed to Hogwarts.
Upon completion of several blocks designed to familiarize the candidate with the common nuances, terms, and situations of the genre's universe, as well as advanced levels of posting, the candidate will be graduated to the simulation of his or her choice within that genre.
Should he or she later decide that she would like to run a game, they may apply for the COMMAND Academy.
