AQSG Awards and Commendations

The Admiral's Star is bestowed upon any member of the Alpha Quadrant Sim Group who is deemed worthy by any member of the A.Q.S.G. Admiralty Corps. To achieve this honor one must post in an outstanding manner for an entire month and/or design a plot idea that becomes a main theme for the sim.

Additionally, one may achieve this honor for technological advances or similar outstanding achievement or any achievement deemed exceptional and or above the normal call of duty.

This award is issued by Admirals of the A.Q.S.G. only and cannot be recommended or requested by any person.

The rank of the Admiral issuing the commendation is reflected on the commendation.

If awarded more than once only the highest ranking Admiral awarding ribbon may be worn.

Unless a person can show indisputable proof of awarding they are not authorized the wearing or possession of this ribbon.

Bestowed upon any Officer who, as deemed by the AQSG Council, shown exemplary service throughout the completed Year.

Can only be bestowed upon by the Commanding Officer of the Fleet and issued in the Month of January of each year for the previous completed year.

Recipient must have been active a minimum of 6 consecutive months during the previous year.

Unless a person can show indisputable proof of awarding they are not authorized the wearing or possession of this ribbon.

Bestowed upon any Officer who, as deemed by the AQSG Council, has shown exemplary service throughout the completed Year. Can only be bestowed upon by the Commanding Officer of the Fleet and issued in the Month of January of each year.

This award is for any player who, through his/her postings for any given month, shows the best quality for posts as compared to all other posts for that month.

The Starbase Special Achievement is awarded to any Starfleet personnel that shows or offers their talents to further the overall effect or look of a Starbase.

OOC Award issued only by the Starbase Command Structure.

This award is for any player who participates in both IC and OOC events and over time has increasingly improved amount of posts, ideas etc. The performance of this player significantly improves the moral and fun of the sim.

Awarded by Starfleet, AQSG or individual Fleet Command.

Awarded to any Starfleet personnel or units who demonstrates a cohesion and exemplary performance in teamwork in resolving a story line.

This award is for any player who, through his/her postings for any given month, would rate as one of the best quality posters for that month.

Awarded for a single post that turns the tide of the story line or generates a special circumstance that causes the story to change.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who successfully completes ten (10) or more years as a Starfleet Officer on active duty and stationed on either a Starbase or Starship. This can be given to any simmer who, regardless of location, can successfully prove tenure within AQSG or other RPG group.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who successfully completes four (4) and up to 10 years as a Starfleet Officer on active duty and stationed on either a Starbase or Starship.

This may be given to any simmer who, regardless of location, can successfully prove tenure within AQSG or other RPG group.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who successfully completes three (3) years as a Starfleet Officer on active duty and stationed on either a Starbase or Starship.

This may be given to any simmer who, regardless of location, can successfully prove tenure within AQSG or other RPG group.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who successfully completes two (2) years as a Starfleet Officer on active duty and stationed on either a Starbase or Starship.

This may be given to any simmer who, regardless of location, can successfully prove tenure within AQSG or other RPG group.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who successfully completes one (1) year as a Starfleet Officer on active duty and stationed on either a Starbase or Starship.

This may be given to any simmer who, regardless of location, can successfully prove tenure within AQSG or other RPG group.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet Personnel who has served aboard any Starfleet ship that knowingly or unknowingly encounters and explores previously unexplored areas of space.

This award is for any player who, through his/her postings for any given month, shows a marked improvement in content, quality or quantity in their posting for that given month.

This award is for any characters who have interacted together between ships and play a vital role in any mission.

The Long Service Honor is awarded by Starfleet Command for serving in Starfleet for five years.

Each ribbon is presented following each five year period, therefore after thirty years the sixth ribbon is presented.

This award is for all players who, through their combined postings for any given month, would rate as the best quality Sims for that month.

Each time this is awarded any Sim group the next consecutive numbered device is displayed in center of ribbon.

Awarded ONLY by the A.Q.S.G. Command Council after majority vote of same.

Awarded ONLY by any Admiral of Starfleet Command. Hold the same disctinction as the Starfleet Admiral's Star except the award is bestowed upon any Fleet of the Alpha Quadrant Sim Group who is deemed worthy by any member of the A.Q.S.G. Admiralty Corps. To achieve this honor a Fleet must post in an outstanding manner for an entire month and/or design a plot idea that becomes a main theme for the sim.

The Silver Star is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with Starfleet, distinguishes himself by bravery and valor well above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against any enemy of the Federation; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. The deed performed must have been so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades. The required self-sacrifice, must be above anything normally accepted as going beyond the normal call of duty and must nevertheless have been performed with marked distinction.

Unless a person can show indisputable proof of awarding they are not authorized the wearing or possession of this ribbon.

The Marine Medal of Honor is awarded by Starfleet Command to Marine personnel ONLY who, while serving in any capacity with Starfleet, distinguishes himself by bravery and valor well above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against any enemy of the Federation; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. The deed performed must have been so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades. The most prestigious award a Starfleet officer or enlisted crewmember can be awarded. The Star of the Federation is awarded on a decision by the Federation Council and Starfleet Command and can be for a very wide variety of reasons.

Awarded by ONLY a FLAG level officer, to any officer of the rank of Captain or higher for recognition of remarkable leadership, meritorious conduct against an enemy combined with personal acts of bravery in any battle to retake or recapture previously held Starfleet or Federation property/properties. May be awarded only once per career.

This is a SECOND issuance of the Silver Star commendation. All criteria for the Silver Star must be meet in full and as stated.

Awarded by Starfleet for officers whom have distinguished themselves by heroism or extraordinary achievement while serving aboard a starship. The requirements for this award need not include the engagement of enemy forces. FIRST issuance.

The Federation Order of Distinction is issued to those who have served the Federation in an unselfish manner for a period of at least, but not less than one year and has no disciplinary issues on record. May be recommended by any member of Starfleet or Alliance's immediate Commanding Officer, but requires Federation approval prior to issuance. Only 200 are issued throughtout the Federation each year. No more than 5 issuances to any one member of the Federation.

The Federation Order of Merit is issued to those who have served the Federation in an unselfish manner for a period of at least, but not less than one year and has no disciplinary issues on record. Does not hold quite the prestige as the Federation Order Commendation. May be recommended by any member of Starfleet or Alliance's immediate Commanding officer, but requires Federation approval prior to issuance. Only 1000 are issued throughtout the Federation each year. No more than 5 issuances to any one member of the Federation.

Awarded to Marine Personnel, for meritorious or distinguished services before the enemy. The Officers must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission as to set it apart from and above other units participating in the same campaign. The degree of heroism required is the same that which would warrant the Presidential Citation to a unit.

Awarded to Starfleet and Commanders or below, including Warrant Officers (or equivalent), for meritorious or distinguished services before the enemy. The Officers must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission as to set it apart from and above other units participating in the same campaign. The degree of heroism required is the same that which would warrant the Presidential Citation to a unit.

The Medal of Gallantry is awarded by Starfleet Command to Marine personnel ONLY for an array of reasons and can be such as, courage under fire, or other acts of heroism to include taking command of a mission in a crisis situation in the absence of a Superior Officer, etc., and while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet is awarded by Starfleet Command to Starfleet personnel ONLY for an array of reasons and can be such as, courage under fire, or other acts of heroism to include taking command of a Starbase or Starship in a crisis situation in the absence of a Superior Officer, etc., and while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force.

Conferred on units of the armed forces of the Federation and of cobelligerent nations, for extraordinary heroism in action against an enemy. The unit must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission as to set it apart from and above other units participating in the same campaign. The degree of heroism required is the same that which would warrant award of the Distinguished Service Cross to an individual.

Awarded to any Starfleet personnel who, without regards to personal safety, and during any act of war campaign, successfully removes a command or Flag officer from a harmful or life threatening situation, and by which results in the death of that officer. Awarded posthumiously by Starfleet Command.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel who has suffered major or permanent injuries, or has been killed while showing extraordinary courage in the fulfilling of his or her duties while defending the United Federation of Planets.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who, through disregard for their own life helps or single handidly saves the life of another person regardless of race, nationality or alien influence.

Awarded to Officers, WO's and non-commissioned member of Starfleet "who shall have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services." The Legion of Merit may be awarded for combat or noncombat services. Justification of the award may accrue by virtue of exceptionally meritorious service in a succession of important positions. This is the highest Starfleet award for noncombat services.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet who successfully completes a minimum of 1 year as a Starfleet Officer on active duty and stationed on either a Starbase or Starship and is interim or permanent Commanding Officer of that post. Must have been awarded the 1 Year Achievement Commendation no less than 6 months prior to receiving this commendation.

The Federation Achievement of Excellence is presented by Starfleet to any member of Command, or other department, who shows an outstanding commitment to their work.

The Marine Achievement Award is presented by Starfleet to any member of the Marine Command Stucture, or other department, who shows an outstanding commitment to their work.

The Vulcan Award for Science is award to Starfleet Science Personnel who successfully formulate a theory and prove it during their time in the Starfleet Science Department. It is award by the Head of Starfleet Science.

The Engineering Achievement is presented by Starfleet Engineering to any member of engineering staff, or other department, but has served with engineering, who shows an outstanding commitment to their work. It is named after: Fleet Admiral Montgomery Scott, Commander-in-Chief of Starfleet Engineering (Ret'd).

The Medical Achievement Award is presented by Starfleet Medical to any member of the medical staff, who successfully advances the medical field by new designing new technics in healing or medical administration.

Awarded by the Federation of Planets to units which have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service or outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit above and apart from similar units. The services include; performance of exceptionally meritorious service, accomplishment of a specific outstanding achievement of significance, combat operations against an armed enemy of the Federation or military operations involving conflict with or exposure to hostile actions by an opposing foreign force.

Awarded to units which have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service or outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit above and apart from similar units. The services include; performance of exceptionally meritorious service, accomplishment of a specific outstanding achievement of significance, combat operations against an armed enemy of the Federation or military operations involving conflict with or exposure to hostile actions by an opposing foreign force. The Starfleet device is worn on the ribbon to denote award for combat or direct combat support actions. This award may be issued to a unit a maximum of three times, denoted by silver star device on either side of center. For second commendation the device must be worn on the right side, and the third commendation must be added to the left side.

This commendation is issued to any member of Starfleet or civilian who has achieved anything deemed to be out of the normal realm of expectations. It is issued by the Commanding Officer of the starship, starbase, outposts or other such stations.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet Science personnel who, through persistence and diligence, makes a significant discovery for the Federation.

Issued to any Starfleet member who discovers anything previously unknown to Starfleet. This may include, but is not limited to, spacial anomolies or bodies, medical findings, etc.

Awarded to any civilian personnel, regardless of alien culture, who through persistence and diligence, makes a significant discovery for the Federation. May be awarded only once per individual.

The highest honor bestowed upon any Officer or Enlisted member of the Cardassian Fleet. On very rare occassions this award is bestowed upon another member of any alien culture for acts of heroism or outstanding achievement which directly assists the Cardassian people.

The Chekov Medal is awarded to the most outstanding member of the Security Department aboard each starship every year. It is awarded by the Heads of Security, Starfleet Command and was named after Admiral Pavel Chekov, Head of Starfleet Security (Ret'd).

The McCoy Cluster is presented by Starfleet Medical to any member of medical staff, or other department, but has served with medical, who shows an outstanding commitment to their work. It is named after: Fleet Admiral Doctor Leonard H. McCoy, Commander-in-Chief of Starfleet Medical (Ret'd).

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in the Dominion War. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the Dominion War, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command only once per career. May be awarded posthumously.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in the Battle of Wolf 359. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the Battle of Wolf 359, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command only once per career. May be awarded posthumously.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in the Invasion of or the Retreat of the Chin'Toka System. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the Chin'Toka System, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command only once per career. May be awarded posthumously.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in the AR 588 Invasion. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the AR 588 Invasion, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command only once per career. May be awarded posthumously.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in any campaign involving Species 8472 and the successful defense of any United Federation of Planet's property or territories while in direct major confrontation with Species 8472. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the campaign, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in any campaign involving the Borg and the successful repelling of the Borg. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the campaign, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command.

Awarded to any Starfleet or Starfleet Marine Personnel for active participation in any campaign or mission where both the Starfleet personnel and Marine personnel work as a unit to successfully achieve an agreed upon goal or end as specified by Starfleet Command. May be awarded posthumously.

Awarded to any Starbase, Starship or Unit who shows immediate and exemplary combat readiness status.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet Personnel who has shown exceptional fighter piloting skills, during any combat experience.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet Personnel who has shown exceptional Shuttle Piloting skills, during any combat experience.

Awarded to any Starship or Marine Fighter Unit who shows immediate and exemplary combat readiness status.

Presented to any Starfleet member assigned to a Starbase and preforms during battle conditions. Awarded by Commanding Officer of a Starbase.

The Starfleet Pilot's Cross is awarded by Starfleet Command to a Conn Officer or Support Craft Pilot for outstanding display of skills in the line of duty. It was first introduced by Fleet Admiral Hikaru Sulu, Commander-in-Chief, Starfleet Command (Ret'd)

Awarded for defense of Starfleet property while in direct confrontation with a new or hostile species and within the spirit of the Klingon Warrior. Awarded by Starfleet Command, and only after receiving approval of the Klingon High Council.

The Vulcan Award for Defense is award to Starfleet Personnel who successfully formulate a theory and prove it during their time in the Starfleet Defense Department. It is award by the Head of Starfleet Defense.

Awarded for defense of Romulan property while in direct confrontation with a new or hostile species and within the spirit of the Romulan Warrior. Awarded by Starfleet Command, and only after receiving approval of the Romulan Empire.

Awarded for the successful defense of any Federation of Planets property or territories while in direct and major confrontation with a new or hostile species. Awarded by Starfleet Command.

The Bajoran Service commendation is awarded to any Starfleet personnel who serves more than two years in the Bajor sector in any capacity.

Presented to any Starfleet Officer, holding a rank of Lieutenant or higher for participation in any assignment that is ordered by Starfleet Command and exceeds regular assigned duties. This award is for intel assignments, special operations and all other classified assignments.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for active participation in any campaign who, during the act of war, prevents or repels any foriegn party from gaining or removing control over any Starfleet property. Issued to those personnel that performed their duty within the territorial limits of the campaign, in the space immediately adjacent thereto or by participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations. This includes both front line and support personnel. Issued by Starfleet Command. Awarded to any Starfleet personnel.

Awarded to any Starfleet Marine for service while engaged with any enemy of domestic origin.

Not to be awarded for service with non-Federation Members. See other commendations for foriegn wars.

May be issued only once per career.

Awarded to any Starfleet personnel who has been captured and detained for more than 14 days as a Prisoner of War.

The Starfleet Commendation is awarded to those officer\'s who have performed their duties to the fullest and have gained their fellow crewmember's respect and have been noticed by their Department Head or the Executive Officer.

Issued only to Civilians who having no obligation to do so nor are under the direct or immediate command or authority of Starfleet or the United Federation of Planets, performs in such a way that they are noticed by same. Performances can be self sacrifice, assistance in intelligence, scientific, security, tactical or other similiar phases that greatly enhance the position and strength of Starfleet and/or the United Federation of Planets. Any Commanding Officer, both Naval and Marine, may issue commendation.

Presented to a ship or a starbase who sucessfully performs at a superior level. This award is a competitive award where ships or installations compete for the title of best of type. Awarded by Starfleet Command.

Awarded to any Officer or Marine who experiences adversity above and beyond what would normally be acceptable and successfully fights through it. This does NOT include any adversity experienced as a direct result of conflicts or war.

The United Federation of Planets Act of Kindness medal is award to civilian\'s and military personnel belonging to the Federation. It is for acts of kindness as its name says. It is given in Starfleet only when the officer themselves performs an act of kindness, and not when ordered to do so.

Awarded to any Starfleet Personnel for exceptional conduct under conditions of duress. Awarded by any Commanding Officer of a starbase, ship or unit. One awarding per career.

The Rand Trophy and Medal are presented to the "Captain's Crewperson" every Earth month aboard a starship, by a joint decision between the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer. Each month the department head's choose the best enlisted crewmember in their department and put the name forward for the Rand Medal. The Captain and Executive Officer then choose the best of the best and present them with the medal. If the same crewmember receives the award three times in one year, the are presented with the Rand Trophy from Starfleet Command. Trophy and medal named after Vice-Admiral Janice Rand, Chief of Starfleet Operations (Ret'd).

The Starfleet Captain's Star is presented by the Commanding Officer of a starship, starbase or other Starfleet facility to a member of the crew who has shown through his actions and duties, to the Commanding Officer, that he is worthy of the prestigious award. This award is decided solely on by the Captain.

Presented to any member of Starfleet who makes a significant contribution to the Diplomatic interests of the Federation. Awarded by Starfleet Command.

James T. Kirk Leadership Award - Awarded to any COMMAND or FLAG level officer of Starfleet for exceptional Leadership skills.

Awarded to any member of Starfleet Personnel who has served in a jury capacity on any Starfleet Level Court Marshal. This does not include service aboard a Starship unless presided over by any Admiral of Starfleet. Actions aboard a Starbase or at Starfleet Headquarters do not require that an Admiral sit as a presiding authority. Issued by ANY J.A.G. officer holding the rank of Lt. Commander or higher or any Starfleet Judge directly involved in that Court Marshal proceeding.

Presented to any Starfleet Officer for service during a First Contact Mission. Officer must have been an active participant in the first contact experience. Awarded by Commanding Officer of a ship.

The Bridge Certification Commendation is awarded to any officer who has met the following qualifications:
(1) Carries the rank of Lieutenant or higher,
(2) Currently stationed on board a ship, and
(3) Has completed Bridge Qualifications.
Awarded only by Commanding Officer.This commendation may be earned only once per career.

Presented to all members of a Federation ship or support craft and who has successfully crossed through a wormhole no less than three times. Presented by the C.O. of a ship.

Awarded to any Starfleet personnel who has participated in no less than 10 away team missions. This must include the leaving of their assigned post and being feet dry on a foriegn location not under the direct control of the United Federation of Planets. Awarded by C.O. of Starbase, Starship or Unit.

Awarded once per career for certification and proficient ability to use a hand held phaser or phaser rifle.

May NOT be worn if any EXPERT ribbon is awarded.

Awarded once per career for EXPERT certification and EXPERT ability to use a hand held phaser.

May NOT be worn if hand held and Phaser Rifle EXPERT ribbon is awarded.

Awarded once per career for EXPERT certification and EXPERT ability to use a hand held phaser AND phaser rifle.

May NOT be worn in conjunction with either the hand-held expert or phaser certification commendations.
