History
of Stargate Andromeda
Stargate Andromeda
began on 18th January 2005. It started
out as an idea though canon in origin,
something completely different. I always
wondered why Atlantis, a starcity, had
never left the planet they were on; to
go exploring in the Pegasus Galaxy. I
decided I would make Andromeda a sister
ship to the Atlantis that was actually
airborne. But just like the Atlantis
team we "discovered" the city submerged
and repaired it as best as possible and
flew it off its planet to go exploring
the Andromeda Galaxy.
We meet and make
new enemies called the Saggi, kin to the
Wraith. They are as bad in the Andromeda
Galaxy as the Wraith were in the
Pegasus. General Roberts is the first
alien to command a Stargate Team,
originally Go'auld, then joining the
Tok'ra - she trained with the SGC on an
exchange team before discovering that
the Ancients were in the Andromeda
Galaxy. Given the go ahead to command a
new team to that galaxy to recon it,
they discover the starcity and decide to
stay put and bring it back online, with
the approval of the SGC.
We have brought in
new aliens, had old enemies attack, gone
through a rip in the space time
continuum and met up with an alternate
of us, and we have also not shyed away
from including either the Atlantis or
SG1 teams on occasion for missions.
Since the end of Atlantis series, I
believe we can take this sim further,
because of the story interests. We have
a lot of readers on the sim, who follow
our story avidly. I have also started
putting the sim into book format and to
date have 3 books called Andromeda Gate
published. All of the Royalties goes to
Charity.
This year Craig is
nominating a charity to support for the
next books to be published for the
series. Robyn (cozmik) is my Cover Artist
and my web designer for both the books
and my games website. She is one of the
best assets we have.

What's Happening Now?
Current happenings
is that Andromeda has landed on a planet
designated PX3PX39. It had been located
by Colonel Black and his unit before the
Andromeda crew headed for the Pegasus
Galaxy. PX3PX39 is an actual pleasure
planet (I nicked the idea from a classic
Trek episode in which Dr. McCoy sees the
white rabbit. I decided to have some fun
with this next mission.) When we leave
there we will be encountering Osiris
again, who has made a deal with the
Saggi. (Our enemies.)

The GM of the Andromeda is Jeanny Driscoll.
Jeanny have been writing for 15 years, 10 of
those for sims. She would guess that simming is
her primary hobby; Jeanny also travels does a
fair amount of sailing and also enjoys reading
and art.

My best players are Craig (Admiral Braak, AQSG
DCnC) - he plays the resident love interest of
General Andrea Roberts, Commanding Officer of the
starcity, and is First Officer of the Andromeda.
Colonel Roman Black. He has been with the sim almost
from its inception.

Second to that is Pavanne, she plays Captain
Sandra Hicks, Chief of Security. Two honourable
mentions though for exceptional writing are Anna
Lake who plays Colonel Lionel Prendergast of the
Alliance, and Michael Pierce (Admiral Hunt of First
Fleet) who is LOA until further notice. Without the
above players, my sim would not have gotten to where
it is today.

Future of Stargate
Andromeda
I want to make Stargate
Andromeda the best Stargate sim online where
everyone joins us whether to read or join in.
There is always room for more crew. I need
players who would like to take over as Colonel
Sheppard, Teyla, Ronin and Dr. Rodney Mackay,
and also Colonel Cameron Mitchell, Major Lorne
and Dr. Radek. I wrote a scenario where they
transferred off the Atlantis after the TV series
finale. I think we have a good writing team to
take the Andromeda into the future.

In order to be eligible for the SIM OF THE MONTH award, a sim must meet the following criteria:
Member of AQSG for 3 months |
Sim is older than 3 months |
Sim contains 4 active members |
Monthly average of 15 posts. | We will notify the GM of Canididate Sims at least a week prior to issuing the award for information.
