Open Positions - Starbase 297 is Reopening!

Starbase 297, one of the AQSG's newest sims, is now accepting players. While I am indeed searching for regular crew, I am experimenting with a new concept. This game will be open to any member of the AQSG, and does not require anyone to be a regular of the starbase to post.

For example, say you play the Chief Science Officer of the USS Patriot, but you've always wanted to explore the life of a common merchant and you didn't want to go further than a post and didn't want to commit full time to another game. You now have the opportunity to do so. Here at Starbase 297, there are no commitments, and you can post as you will. You can explore the lower decks, play a part in the Orion Syndicate or a smuggler, or a Petty Officer stuck with trash detail. The options are almost limitless.

Those wishing to be a part of the regular crew will be held to a once-a-week posting commitment.

Positions open:
Executive Officer (also AGM)
Chief of Operations
Chief Science Officer
<s>Chief Medical Officer</s>
Chief of Strategic Operations
Head of the Chamber of Commerce (civilian only)
Chief of Station Security
Chief Diplomatic Officer
Chief Flight Controller / Dockmaster

Starbase 297 is located 100 lightyears from Earth and is near no territorial borders, but is several thousand kilometers from a large Mutara-class nebula. She is, nor will ever be, in danger from the major powers in the Alpha Quadrant.

Those wishing to apply for regular crew with commitments may use the AQSG Join Form to fill out, or reply to this topic. Those wishing to participate in the Come and Go section may do so at any time.

Hey everyone. I see this place is still alive and kicking. And I'm glad it is like that. How are you all?

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me, but I used to sim here few years ago, most lately in the Black Hawk sim. I'm still in sb177 mail group sometimes reading the posts. I started reading back the mails in that list trying to get a hold on the story but I used to run my mail account as POP3, downloaded everything into my computer and forgot to backup. Stupid me.

Anyway, I would be interested to participate in a sim again, perhaps for a short time to see how it feels again, if anyone is willing to suffer me.
Captain Lon Jackson,
SS Spade-ICC-5897.
Eurida Prime/Consortium.
==================

Lon exited the airlock and stepped into the pristen surroundings that was SB297. It had been nearly six months since he had last been there and things hadn't changed all that much. The Tattoo Parlour was in full swing as it had been the last time he had visited the Base.

Lon felt his arm and smiled the skull and cross bones tat he'd gotten his last visit had awed his son but his wife had been appalled.

Jackson stopped by the DockMasters office had made arrangements to have the Consortiums Medical supplies loaded. He wouldn't be able to stay this time around. He had a shcedule to keep if he wanted the latinum bonus the El'Aurian had promised him.

The isodesium power cells were in wide demand especially of the colony world called Chandler Prime. Chandler had been in its day the pre-eminent source of scientific research for Starfleet Command.

Now it was little more than a "Think Tank" for washed up scientists.

Jackson was told that the cargo would be loaded in six hours so he checked into a guest suite and had a quick hot water shower and a massage that lasted nearly an hour and a half. When it was done he felt ten times better and dressed in a fresh uniform which some say was a throw back to the Jonathan Archer era.

Lon visited a few friends that he had met on his last trip before dropping by an old eating haunt. After eating more than he should he felt like taking a nap but knew there wasn't enough time. Jackson stopped by his quarters on the Base and packed his duffle . He then checked with his First Officer to make sure that all of the crew had started to return from their brief shoreleave.

"They're back Skipper, just waiting to get underway",Pete told him.

Lon knew that was code for "waiting for the Captain's slow ass to get back here" and he smiled.

"On my way Pete, fire up the engines",Lon ordered.

He made a mental note to return to the Base as soon as possible. There was going to be a concert performance by Brom Switzer from New Aries. Switzer was his wife Ellen's favorite pianist and he knew that securing nthe tickets and having a long weekend here with his wife would a go a long way in smoothing over his beng absent for their anniversary last week..

..TBC..)

Have to agree with you as a whole. There were a few bright spots though. Tyler Perry as the Federation President and Bruce Greenwood did Captain Pike justice.

The kid who played Chekov was good (even if he was hard to understand most of the time).

Hey All!

This is Trevor Campbell, a.k.a. Captain Logan Campbell. Just wanted to let everyone know that we're trying a sort of sub group within our SIM, the Achilles.

What we're doing is we're taking a select group of characters to work on some of the Fleet's more sensitive crimes using our secure Crime Lab on the ship. These characters can have dual roles (i.e, being Chief of Security AND one of the invesigators / lab techs) or can be dedicated to working on the various cases the lab will be charged with handling. The invesigations are going to consist of criminal / forensic cases, disappearances, stange phenomenon, and possibly more! (Pretty much anything we can think up a reason to use the lab for!)

If interested, non members please fill out an application form, while current AQSG members can send an email to trevordavidc (at) yahoo.com!

Thanks,

Trevor / Logan

Come and Go - [Promenade] Ahzeeza, Sacred Soul Body Art

Ahzeeza was in the supply room in the back where she stored a mind-boggling array of colored inks, some replicated, some hand-made. The bottle she selected was the latter. Given what this one was for, the Risan wanted this to be as organic as possible. She squeezed the dark liquid into a smaller, narrow bottle and when filled she screwed on a "pen" tip and then capped it. She repeated this until she had the number of inked pens she wanted. Replacing the larger bottle back into its labelled slot, she slid the plasiglass panel closed over the supply shelves.

Back in the main rooms of her shop, Ahzeeza was setting up her equipment when Lieutenant Maggie Chao arrived. Ahzeeza smiled and waved the young Starfleet Ops officer over to her station. The women greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek and an exchange of "how are you's".

"Sit down," Ahzeeza invited, and the Lieutenant settled herself in what looked like a barber or dentist chair, it could be raised or lower and adjusted to several sitting position or even laid flat to lay down upon. "Have you decided on whether or not you want to know?"

Maggie smiled alittle bashfully, saying ruefully, "Not yet." Unconsciously she laid a hand over her stomach.

"Well, plenty of time still," Ahzeeza replied.

Since this was her day off, Maggie was in civilian clothing, she wore a high-waisted blouse which she pulled up now to expose her mid-section just beginning to bulge with its growing unborn child. The two women smiled at each other knowingly.

Maggie had spent some time chosing the design she wanted to commenorate this special event in her life. She had decided on a mandala motif that would start with the center and then be expanded outward as her pregnancy grew. She would be making several trips back to Sacred Soul over the next few months.

"Okay, let's get started, shall we?" Ahzeeza beamed and she wheeled her tray of equipment around to where she wanted it, and flicked the lever that locked it in place and then did the same with the stool she was sitting on. It was one of the many new changes she had to get used to living on a space station for the first time in her life. Though a station this large was at little risk of have a catastrophic failure short of being attacked, still anywhere that was supported by artificial gravity had to take precautions of having all loose objects being "tied down" as it were.

Ahzeeza opened a sterile wipe and swabbed Maggies belly. While she let it air dry and picked up the pen applicator, she explained, "The henna stains the skin cells, it will darken over the next 2-3 days so it's important not to wash it during that time. It will keep for about a couple of weeks and then start to fade as the skin exfoliates. You'll need to come in for a touch-up then."

Maggie nodded understanding. "I'm so excited... and so nervous!" she admitted, happiness and nerves vibrating in her voice. This was her first. "There's so much to do! I've put in for new quarters, I hope we can get moved in by next month...."

Ahzeeza happily listened to the young woman chatter on about all the changes motherhood brought, as their sessions progressed, the talk would no doubt change to compliants of nausea and discomfort, worries and anxieties. It was what Ahzeeza loved about what she did. Everyone had a story and a whole range of feelings about why they wanted to mark their bodies, and she loved hearing them. It was the moments in peoples lives, the things that shaped them. All these moments was, to Ahzeeza, what Life was all about.
